The Talk of the Tundra Tournament Swing

North Dakota State University and Concordia College cordially invite you to attend a two-tournament swing to be hosted on our campuses the first weekend in October. The Talk of the Tundra will honor the work of three forensics coaches who have contributed greatly to the activity through their research, service, and coaching, and are designed with specific pedagogy, health, accessibility, and competitive goals. Entry fees have been kept as low as we believe they can be, while still allowing for beautiful awards and a break-even impact on our budgets.

Highlights:

• Open Access and Learning Focus: Novice finals when warranted. Lots of ballots and questions answered by peers.
• Scanned Ballots on Saturday so you can learn from everyone’s performances.
• Also on Saturday, prelim rounds have a ½ hour of extra time built in for Q&A among peers. The Q&A time will be moderated by someone other than the judge.
• Sunday students will get lots of comments because everyone (students and judges and guests) will write critiques. There will be a workshop about writing good critiques to start the day!
• $5.00/slot; $10/slot uncovered fee
• Enter 4 events on Saturday and 6 on Sunday
• Tournament will include prelim rounds of Parliamentary Debate on Saturday if we have enough interest (looking for 16 debate teams to participate). Entry fees TBD based upon interest.
• Tournament start: 10:15 am Saturday.     Leave campus: 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
• Full church service on campus Sunday.
